With the popularity of recent biopic movies about Freddie Mercury and Elton John, it is clear that rock and roll will never die. The OSO is excited to perform with The Gary Cable Project to bring the greatest hits of 60’s, 70’s and 80’s timeless rock music to our stages, with some of Canada’s greatest musicians alongside our orchestra. We will, we will rock you!

INSIDER FACTS

INSTANT CONNECTION

When the band first got together in 2018, they had only one rehearsal before their first two concerts, and that was mostly a glorified sound check. Fortunately, the calibre of the players meant they were more than able to hit the ground running and immediately gel as a group.

A-LIST

Considering the pedigree of the individual musicians, Gary initially wondered about issues of ego or attitude, as not all musicians are easy to work with. On the contrary, everyone brought their ‘A-game’ with not a touch of ego in sight. He recalls one of the members (who had recently performed with Harry Connick Jr. and the Gypsy Kings) in awe over another member who recorded a seminal album with Bryan Adams!

A group of teens recently asked me “Queen or the Beatles?” Hard to choose (I think I said Queen) but I was so tickled that these teenagers were still huge fans of the pop music that I loved as a teen. GREAT MUSIC JUST KEEPS LIVING ON.
