The 2021/22 OSYO Program will provide opportunities for live music-making in a safe environment as we continue to navigate the aftermath of the pandemic.
Rehearsals take place in Kelowna at First Lutheran Church, 4091 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna on Sundays from 2:30-5:00 pm. Over the course of the season, there will also be opportunities to work with our OSO musicians in a series of sectional-based rehearsals.
For our full rehearsal and season schedule click here.
We encourage OSYO registration and payments to be completed by September 17th, 2021 at noon, ahead of our first rehearsal.
The OSYO presents 6 concerts throughout the Okanagan valley across 2 series each year, giving students a chance to gain valuable experience performing in a live concert setting. There are 2 concerts presented in each of the communities of Kelowna, Penticton, and Vernon; one series in the fall and one in the spring.

As one of the highlights of our program, this is an excellent opportunity for students to learn directly from professionals while observing and working side-by-side through rehearsals and concerts.

Through biweekly Zoom lessons, students are mentored by an established composer in a small class environment to explore their creativity and broaden their instrumental composition skills. The program culminates at the OSYO Composer Reading Session in late March 2022, where students will have their own original compositions workshopped and performed on stage by the OSO. This adjunct program is a great opportunity for students to expand on their musical creativity. Full program details coming soon.
Each year near the beginning of the season, the OSYO holds a weekend camp experience at Camp Hatikvah in Lake Country. Filled with rehearsals, outdoor activities, group meals, and an overnight stay in shared cabins, it’s a great opportunity for students to reconnect with old friends and make new ones! The details of the 2021 camp experience will be confirmed in September.
The OSO is proud to present a series of masterclasses each year led by featured guest artists. These sessions provide students with the opportunity to perform for and learn from some of the best musicians in the world in an exclusive 1-on-1 setting. All masterclasses are open to the public to attend.
