PROGRAM

Come and hear the talents of the Okanagan Symphony Youth Orchestra (OSYO) at their annual spring concert!  Under the direction of Conductor, Zeena Zaiyouna, the OSYO presents a variety of music from the romantic era including Oskar Böhme’s Trumpet Concerto in F minor and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8.

Like their professional counterpart, the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, the OSYO performs in all three major centres of the Valley: Vernon, Penticton and Kelowna.

Support our Okanagan Valley youth and enjoy three concerto performances featuring the capturing Glazunov’s Saxophone Concerto, Saint-Saëns’ Allegro Appassionato for violoncello, and other student compositions and symphonic works.

This concert also provides an exceptional opportunity for aspiring advanced players who are considering expanding their versatility as musician and orchestral youth player. If you currently study instrumental music (strings or band) you are especially encouraged and welcome to attend the concert to envision new possibilities for performing with a community of similarly keen minded musicians. Auditions will be held at the end of May 2024.
