for a richer Okanagan tomorrow

With deepest gratitude to those of you who made a donation to our endowment over the last seven weeks, we are ecstatic to report that we have surpassed our goal!

We also thank our anonymous donor for kickstarting the campaign through their generous offer of matching funds.

OSO Endowment Matching Campaign

While the OSO has struggled over the last two years, we have come through the COVID maelstrom and are turning our sights to our longer-term future. We invite you to support this future through a gift to our Okanagan Symphony Society endowments, which will be matched through a generous donor.

For every $1.00 you invest in your OSO through your community foundation May 13 – June 30, 2022, your investment will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000 by our donor. Then, later in the year, the OSO will apply for a Canadian Heritage matching grant to triple these funds to $150,000.

Support the legacy of the OSO, your community foundation, and your community for a stronger, brighter future. Our goal is to achieve $2,000,000 of endowed funds by May 2025. You can help us reach this by donating to your local foundation today!

Why Invest in a Community Foundation?

Community foundations are charitable organizations dedicated to improving communities in specific geographic areas. They do this by pooling the charitable gifts of donors to create endowment funds and using the investment income to make grants. Community foundations also provide leadership – monitoring the area’s quality of life and convening people, ideas, and resources to help build stronger and more resilient communities. A community foundation is truly a charity for all charities!

The Community Foundation of the North Okanagan is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the region by distributing the earnings from a permanent, ever-growing pool of funds and embracing innovative grantmaking opportunities.

To contribute to the quality of life in the Central Okanagan through the raising and stewardship of entrusted funds, innovative and diverse granting, and active community leadership.

We lead by connecting ideas, time and resources with community needs and opportunities.
