THE GARY CABLE PROJECT

The Gary Cable Project is a Pop/Rock band comprised of ‘A-List’ live and session musicians who have performed and recorded with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Joe Cocker, Bryan Adams, Michael Bublé, The Pointer Sisters, David Foster, Natalie Cole, Chris de Burgh, Chilliwack, Powder Blues Band, Ian Tyson, Sarah McLachlan, and the great Ray Charles.

The Gary Cable Project performs classic hits by Chicago, Lighthouse, Steely Dan, Toto, Blood Sweat & Tears, Santana, Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Supertramp … and many more.

PAT STEWARD - DRUMS

Pat Steward burst out of clubland obscurity when he recorded the hit Summer of ’69 with Bryan Adams and toured the rocker’s Reckless album around the world and back again to his Vancouver home.

Since those times with Adams, Pat has made his mark with the musically hip pop-rockers The Odds, and shuffled his way from coast to coast across Canada with blues/swing guitarist extraordinaire, Colin James. More recently, he’s been putting the groove into the critically-acclaimed songs of Matthew Good, a chart-topping Canadian favourite. And when times are quiet, he has been known to share his drumming expertise with a local secondary school.

GORD MAXWELL - BASS

Raised in Saskatchewan, Gord started singing at the age of six and has been singing ever since. Since moving to the West Coast in the 80’s, Gord has been sought after as a studio singer. Today, his voice continues to be heard on Canadian country radio on a daily basis.

Gord recorded and toured in Ian Tyson’s concert trio until recently. He played bass and sang harmony for Mr. Tyson for 20 years. Gord is one three “Gords” in a country pop, singer-songwriter group called The Gords. He is now the bassist and a vocalist in the legendary Canadian Music Hall of Fame rock band, Chilliwack.

ROBERT WALSH - GUITAR

With a career that has spanned stints in Montreal, Toronto and Edmonton, Robert is a multi-city, multi-talent. As a guitarist, Robert has played with a wide range of artists, including The Pointer Sisters, Petula Clark, Tom Cochrane, Renée Fleming, Daniel Lavoie, Johnny Reid, and The Canadian Tenors.

Robert’s credits don’t stop there, however. His many talents have led him to a multitude of roles over the years: as a solo artist, the guy-behind-the-artist, songwriter, composer, producer, arranger, musical director, hired gun, session player, front-man, invisible background musician, critic, author, teacher, and student.

VINCE MAI - TRUMPET

Based in Vancouver, Vince is a sought-after improvisational soloist, regularly performing and recording with jazz, blues, Latin, and pop artists.

Vince has arranged and orchestrated numerous projects. His studio work has also included TV shows like DaVinci’s Inquest, The Chris Isaak Show, Lonesome Dove, McGyver and many feature films. Also an award-winning composer, Vince has composed music for feature films, documentaries, TV series, video games and commercials for clients that include CBC, NFB, PBS, McDonald’s, TELUS and Mazda.

GARY CABLE - PIANO & KEYBOARDS

Gary is the band leader and arranger for the Gary Cable Project. A long-time professional pianist and keyboard player, he founded the group several years ago based on his connections in the world of live and session musicians.

Gary is one of Western Canada’s most sought-after musicians, as both a solo artist (singer, pianist & keyboard player) and as Musical Director & Arranger for the bands Aura and The Gary Cable Project. In the early 1980s Gary performed with the touring and recording band Hyperion, for which he co-produced their hit record “Hold Me”. During the 1980s he appeared as a ‘side-man’ and session musician with the likes of Tommy Banks and Tommy Common (Tommy Hunter), and appeared as guest and session player on several recordings. Since that time Gary has worked with many other prominent performing artists including J. Geils, Duke Robillard, Long John Baldry, Corb Lund, Michael Carey (with Randy Bachman), Kreshia Turner and a host of others. He also owns and operates AuraTone Productions recording & mastering studio in Kelowna, BC, Canada.

ARIANA WHITLOW - VOCALS

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Ariana has entertained audiences around the world as a singer, actor and dancer. She has toured with the renowned Ukrainian Shumka Dancers, and performed as a featured entertainer on Royal Caribbean International cruise lines.

Ariana has opened for Blue Rodeo and performed alongside Canadian superstars Mark Masri and Brett Kissel. Currently, she is a member of local cover band UPTOWN and is Entertainment Manager for John Cameron Entertainment.
