Camp

Each year near the beginning of the season, the OSYO holds a weekend camp experience at Camp Hatikvah in Lake Country. Filled with rehearsals, outdoor activities, group meals, and an overnight stay in shared cabins, it’s a great opportunity for students to reconnect with old friends and make new ones!

Holiday & Summer Parties

The OSYO typically gathers for an end of year Holiday Party in December during the last rehearsal of the calendar year as well as in the Summer after the final concert of the season. This is a chance for the players to socialize in a relaxed setting outside of the busy rehearsals and concerts.

Chamber Ensembles

At their own initiative and out of high motivation OSYO musicians form small groups that they play with in their free time. These are not part of the official OSYO program but often arise from it. Ask the OSO Community Engagement Coordinator, your band teacher, or your local music school about performance opportunities!

Volunteering

Becoming a part of the OSYO team is not only beneficial for the smooth functioning of the Youth Orchestra, but it also provides a different connection to the organization, giving the opportunity to see what goes on “behind the scenes”.Â
