Youth Orchestra
OSYO Fall Concert
Adults: $20 | Seniors: $15 | Students: $10
Tickets will also be available at the door.
The talented young musicians of the Okanagan Symphony Youth Symphony take the stage November 26 & 27 for their first concert appearance of the season. Like their professional counterpart, the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, the OSYO plays in all three major centres of the Valley: Vernon, Penticton and Kelowna.
Led by co-conductors Dennis Colpitts and Rosemary Thomson, members of the OSYO range in age from nine through 20 and come from all reaches of the Okanagan. The fall concert series features concerto performances by oboist Dominic Calderer and cellist Sam Shea, and an original work by student composer Meredith Allen — all part of the enhanced opportunities available to OSYO members in addition to the rigorous orchestral education they receive. Other selections include Vaughan Williams’ English Folk Song Suite, Bizet’s Farandole, Kalinnikov’s Symphony No. 1, and works by Borodin, Sibelius, and others.
Support our area’s talented and hard-working youth and enjoy high quality symphonic music at a lower price point. Please join us for the OSYO’s Fall Concert! You’ll be glad you did.
