BC’s Culture Days celebrations this fall will include the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra’s Open Dress Rehearsal on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Kelowna Community Theatre. This event offersa unique behind-the-scenes look at the artistic process that brings a concert performance to life.
Culture Days celebrates arts, culture, and heritage in communities across BC and the country: it’s Canada’s largest public participation campaign for the arts!
Audiences will enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at Music That Shimmers, featuring Music Director Julian Pellicano and guest harpist Joy Yeh as they prepare for the weekend’s performances.
As part of the Culture Days experience, attendees are invited to join a Q&A session with Julian during the rehearsal break.
Guests are asked to remember that this is a working rehearsal, giving the orchestra and conductor valuable time to refine the performance in preparation for the concert. Larger groups, particularly those using mobility aids, are encouraged to notify the Community Engagement Coordinator in advance. A minimum donation of $25 per person is suggested.

The OSO is also pleased to announce a second Open Dress Rehearsal on May 7, 2027, in advance of the orchestra’s Season Finale performance.
